• Payment Information: If you purchase premium features, payment information is processed by our payment processors (e.g., Lemon Squeezy). We do not store full payment details on our servers.

Content of the Currently Open Document

WordFokus accesses the content of the Google Doc you currently have open only when you are actively using the add-on in that document.

We need this access to:

• Identify your current position in the document when you start a focused writing session, so we know where to insert your writing later.
• Insert the text you write within the WordFokus editor back into your document when you click "Save & Exit."
• If you use the "Recover Unsaved Content" feature, we access your unsaved text previously stored temporarily within that document's properties and insert it back into the document for you.

• Access or read the content of your document for any purpose other than inserting/recovering the specific text you wrote in the WordFokus editor.
• Store copies of your document's content on our servers.
• Access or read the content of any other documents in your Google Drive.

Your Google Account Email Address

We securely transmit your primary Google Account email address to our verification server solely to confirm your PRO subscription status and unlock premium features if you are a subscriber. We do not use your email for marketing without your explicit consent, nor do we share it with unrelated third parties.

Other Automatically Collected Information

• Basic Usage Data: General information about how you interact with the add-on's features (e.g., which buttons are clicked) to help us understand usage patterns and improve the tool. This does not include document content.
• Error Reports: Information about any technical issues or errors you may encounter, which helps us diagnose and fix problems.

How We Use Your Information (Summary)

In addition to the specific uses described above, we use your information for the following general purposes:

• To Provide Our Services: To operate and maintain the WordFokus add-on and deliver the features you request.

Where Your Data Is Stored

User preferences, writing statistics, and temporarily recovered text (if applicable) are stored within your Google account's storage allocated to Google Workspace add-ons (specifically, User Properties and Document Properties). This means:

• Your data stays within the Google ecosystem associated with your account.
• Your data is subject to Google's security and privacy infrastructure.
• You can effectively remove this stored data by uninstalling the add-on (which clears User Properties) or by clearing the relevant Document Properties if needed for recovery data.

Subscription Verification & External Communication

As mentioned, to verify your access level (Free or PRO tier), WordFokus securely transmits only your Google Account email address via an encrypted HTTPS connection to our secure subscription verification server. This server checks your email against our payment records (managed by our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy) solely to confirm your current subscription status. No other personal information or document content is sent to this external server. We employ industry-standard security measures to protect this information during transmission and on our verification server.

Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary:

• User preferences and writing statistics stored in User Properties are retained until you uninstall the add-on.
• Temporarily stored recovery text in Document Properties is typically overwritten or cleared upon successful saving or can be manually managed if needed.
• Email addresses used for subscription verification are checked against our payment processor's records but are not persistently stored on our verification server beyond the immediate check, unless required for logging or security purposes for a limited duration. Subscription status information linked to your email is retained by our payment processor according to their policies and for as long as you maintain an active subscription, plus any period required by law.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:

• The right to delete your information
• The right to restrict or object to processing
• The right to data portability
• The right to withdraw consent

Since most data is stored within your Google Account's properties, managing or deleting this data is primarily done by uninstalling the add-on or managing document properties.
